            The Voorheesville Blackbirds are taking a road trip to  take on the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs  at 12:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The  teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Voorheesville has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Berne-Knox-Westerlo will arrive with 12 straight  wins.
Voorheesville fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Lansingburgh  on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of  6-5.
 Abby Brown was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Brown was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in two of her five plate appearances.
 Brown wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Maddy Tabakian, who  went 1-for-3 with one  triple and two  RBI. Another  was  Ava Tabakian, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-6.
 Meanwhile,  in Wednesday's  Canine Competition, Berne-Knox-Westerlo prevailed. They blew past Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville 12-6 on Wednesday. 12 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the  squad scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 Berne-Knox-Westerlo's win was  their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 7.8 runs thus far. As for Voorheesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
 Voorheesville suffered a grim  9-0 defeat to Berne-Knox-Westerlo  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023. Can the Blackbirds avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
