Basketball Game Preview: Faith Christian Saints vs. Still Creek Christian Colts

Faith Christian hasn't had much luck against Still Creek Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Faith Christian Saints will take on the Still Creek Christian Colts at 6:00 p.m.

Last Monday, Faith Christian was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Spring Baptist Academy. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, Faith Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mason Burns, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Galvan, who posted 13 points.

Even though they lost, Faith Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Still Creek Christian came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past the Royals with a 52-46 victory.

Still Creek Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Faith Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Faith Christian came up short against Still Creek Christian in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 44-34. Can Faith Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
