Basketball Recap: Bernalillo Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Bernalillo extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Trinity Calabaza. The Bernalillo Spartans claimed a resounding 53-26 win over the Del Norte Knights with plenty of help from Calabaza, who posted 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. She has become a key player for Bernalillo: the team is 6-3 when she posts at least three steals, but 7-12 otherwise.

Jill Lovato was another key player, putting up 14 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Bernalillo has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Del Norte and nudges their season record down to 9-18.
