Softball Game Preview: Colville Crimson Hawks vs. Timberlake Tigers

Colville is 0-3 against Timberlake since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Colville Crimson Hawks will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Timberlake Tigers at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Colville is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against East Valley. Colville walked away with a 15-12 victory over East Valley on Monday. The Crimson Hawks haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Timberlake sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over West Valley on Friday.

Shae Jones made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Prestyn Gardner, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Marissa Needs, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Colville suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Timberlake in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Colville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
