Basketball Recap: Steele Finds Home Court Redemption Against San Marcos

There's no place like home for Steele, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the San Marcos Rattlers by a score of 62-49 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Rattlers back in January, they had to take a 54-47 defeat.

Despite the loss, San Marcos still got an impressive performance from Azariah Fennell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Fennell's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Melayna Perkins, who posted 12 points.

Steele is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for San Marcos, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-8.

Steele will face off against United at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. United knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Steele likes a good challenge. San Marcos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
