The Williamsburg Blue Pirates will head out to take on the Juniata Valley Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Williamsburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Williamsburg is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Curwensville on Tuesday. They lost 14-1 to the Golden Tide.

Williamsburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jase McCall, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Juniata Valley entered their tilt with Southern Huntingdon County on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 9-6.

Elijah Johns was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Robert Hess was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Spurlin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Juniata Valley's record now sits at 8-5. As for Williamsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Williamsburg took their victory against Juniata Valley in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
