Basketball Recap: Isabella Morales Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Mayer posted their closest win since November 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-32 victory over the Bagdad Sultans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 35-25 last Monday.

Mayer got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabella Morales out in front who posted four points and six boards. Taylor McCann was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Mayer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Mayer's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14. As for Bagdad, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
