Softball Recap: Lockport Porters vs. Andrew Thunderbolts
Lockport extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Andrew. They came out on top against the Andrew Thunderbolts by a score of 8-4. Winning may never get old, but Lockport sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
The team relied heavily on Mikayla Cvitanovich, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Marie Baranowski, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
On Andrew's side, Mataia Lawson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Maddie Hanik was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Lockport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season. As for Andrew, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-6-1.
Lockport will face off against Lincoln-Way Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln-Way Central will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something Lockport surely won't give up without a fight. Andrew does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
