Softball Recap: Afton Comes Up Short

Afton lost against Greene back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights fell 4-1 to the Trojans. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Afton and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Greene, the win (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Afton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-9 victory against Delaware Academy on the 28th. As for Greene, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Harpursville at 4:30 p.m. The Trojans are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
