Basketball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 56-26 loss at the hands of the AGWSR Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Sailors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Cougars are ranked 152nd).

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for AGWSR, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-32 defeat against Hudson on the 4th. AGWSR has also already played their next contest, a 51-48 win against Grundy Center on the 4th.
