Softball Recap: Newnan Cougars vs. Lovejoy Wildcats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pike County, Newnan was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Lovejoy Wildcats with a sharp 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Newnan got a great performance from CA Moss as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave Moss a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addison Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Brooke Bowen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
