Volleyball Recap: Tuscola Takes a Loss

Tuscola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Brevard Blue Devils. The Mountaineers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in August of 2019.

Tuscola took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Emma Duncan and Samantha Horton, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Stella Yarrington and her nine assists. Finally, Horton was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Tuscola's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Brevard, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuscola will square off against East Henderson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brevard, they will venture away from home to take on Cherokee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
