Softball Recap: Deshler Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Deshler barely beat Muscle Shoals the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Trojans an 11-0 shutout on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in March.

Alivia Lewis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had over her last 14 matches.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Havah Standridge, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleiah Decatur, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Deshler pushed their record up to 25-12 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Muscle Shoals, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Looking ahead, Deshler will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Central at 4:30 p.m. As for Muscle Shoals, they will head out on the road to take on Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
