Basketball Recap: South Garner Has No Trouble Against Cape Fear Christian Academy

South Garner won the last time they faced Cape Fear Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The South Garner Titans enjoyed a cozy 53-37 win over the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles. That looming 53-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Titans yet this season.

Cape Fear Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Elijah Ellis, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds. Ellis is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Caden Scarborough was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points.

South Garner's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-5.

South Garner will challenge Willow Spring at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Willow Spring's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th.
