Football Recap: Shawnee Skates Past Lenape with Ease

Shawnee was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lenape on Friday. The Renegades blew past the Indians 42-14. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Shawnee found their leader in sophomore Cole Anderson, who rushed for 65 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Anderson. Tyler Nickles got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Shawnee's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.0 points over those games. As for Lenape, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Shawnee will host Cherokee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lenape, they are taking a road trip to take on Washington Township at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 36.2 points per game this season.
