Southern School of Energy and Sustainability extended their winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Jakayla Palmer. The Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans enjoyed a cozy 70-54 win over the Carrboro Jaguars on Saturday thanks in part to Palmer, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and ten steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 23 times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Hudson, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. What's more, she racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Carrboro still got an impressive performance from Summer Lee, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 18 boards. Yazmin Paisant was another key player, putting up 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points over those games. As for Carrboro, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7.

As of now, neither Southern School of Energy and Sustainability nor Carrboro have any future games scheduled.
