Football Recap: Tennyson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Tennyson played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 35-6 defeat at the hands of the San Leandro Pirates. The game marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Tennyson lost, don't look at Montrell Rice-Tuigamala. Despite the final result, he rushed for 170 yards while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Rice-Tuigamala's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 rushing yards.

Even if they lost, Tennyson's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was James Walker Jr. with two. He also made six total tackles, which is notable because Tennyson is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise.

San Leandro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaymieon Bradley led the charge by rushing for 151 yards and one TD on only five carries, while also catching one score. Bradley's longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Brunson, who picked up 87 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Tennyson and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for San Leandro, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Tennyson has already played their next contest, a 37-13 loss against James Logan on the 17th. As for San Leandro, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-8 defeat against Moreau Catholic on the 17th.
