Baseball Recap: Jonesville Wins Going Away Against Leslie

Jonesville barely beat Leslie the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets blew past the Blackhawks 10-3 on Friday. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackhawks, too.

Carsen Cornila was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Brooks, who earned three runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Jonesville and bumps their season record up to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Leslie, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Jonesville is set to challenge their familiar foe Addison at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Leslie will face off against rival Columbia Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blackhawks 3.7, the Golden Eagles 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
