Jonesville barely beat Leslie the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets blew past the Blackhawks 10-3 on Friday. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackhawks, too.
Carsen Cornila was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Brooks, who earned three runs and one stolen base.
The victory made it two in a row for Jonesville and bumps their season record up to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Leslie, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Jonesville is set to challenge their familiar foe Addison at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Leslie will face off against rival Columbia Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
