Basketball Recap: Lincoln County Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warren County, Lincoln County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Lake Oconee Academy Titans by a score of 60-53. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

Lake Oconee Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Canon Mullen, who went 8 for 20 en route to 21 points along with six boards and three steals, and Torin Maddox, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. Mullen is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of James Wright, who scored eight points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Lincoln County pushed their record up to 4-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Lake Oconee Academy, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-5.

Lincoln County will square off against Greene County at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Lake Oconee Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-41 win against Towns County on the 18th.
