Basketball Recap: Malachi Mays Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Boyd-Buchanan

On Friday, it was close, but the Bethlehem Christian Academy Knights capped 2024 with a 44-42 victory over the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers. The win was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 241st in Georgia, while the Buccaneers are ranked 58th in Tennessee).

Bethlehem Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachi Mays out in front who posted 12 points. Adian Grady was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points and five assists.

Bethlehem Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Boyd-Buchanan, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Bethlehem Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-50 loss against Tennessee Heat on the 28th. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-41 win against Oakland on the 28th.
