Volleyball Game Preview: Lawrence Free State Firebirds vs. Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers + How To Watch

The Lawrence Free State Firebirds will head out on the road to square off against the Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Lawrence Free State managed to slip by Mill Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Firebirds lost 3-0 to the Jaguars on Tuesday.

While Lawrence Free State was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Mill Valley's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 26-24, 27-25.

Gardner-Edgerton not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 25th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Shawnee Mission East.

Gardner-Edgerton's got stronger as the match went on, holding Shawnee Mission East to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-22, 25-21.

Gardner-Edgerton's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Lawrence Free State, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-9.

Lawrence Free State beat Gardner-Edgerton 2-0 in their previous meeting back in August. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Trailblazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
