Volleyball Recap: Pamlico Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Pamlico Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Conquerors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Pamlico Christian Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Jacksonville Christian Academy's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11, 25-18.

Jacksonville Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Violette Smith had nine digs and Selma Scott hit 100% for eight kills and 24 assists and six aces. Scott is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Pamlico Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Pamlico Christian Academy will head out to take on New Bern Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Living Water Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
