Basketball Game Preview: Hazen Wildcats vs. Windsor Yellowjackets

The Hazen Wildcats will challenge the Windsor Yellowjackets on Thursday. Hazen will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Hazen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Richford with a sharp 59-38 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Windsor faced Bellows Falls in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Windsor enjoyed a cozy 53-34 win over Bellows Falls. The Yellowjackets pushed the score to 47-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Terriers cut but never quite recovered from.

Hazen's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points on average over those games. As for Windsor, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4.

Hazen was able to grind out a solid victory over Windsor in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 66-56. Will Hazen repeat their success, or does Windsor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
