Basketball Recap: Thornwell Comes Up Short

Thornwell lost against Calhoun Falls Charter back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Thornwell Saints were dealt a 63-25 loss at the hands of the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.

Autumn Thomas was a one-woman wrecking crew for Calhoun Falls Charter as she dropped a double-double on 42 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Thomas a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Alexis Sanders, who posted seven points in addition to six blocks and five boards.

Thornwell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Thornwell will head out to take on South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, they will host Ninety Six at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ninety Six will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Calhoun Falls Charter surely won't give up without a fight.
