Volleyball Recap: Hughes Springs Falls to New Boston in First Game of Season

Hughes Springs unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the New Boston Lions on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered against the Lions since September 4, 2020.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: New Boston scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 25-22.

Looking ahead, Hughes Springs will head out on the road to take on Cumby at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Boston, they will welcome Bonham at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
