            Softball Recap: Ray Ray Jays vs. Glenburn Panther        
        
		
        
        
            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Ray). They put the hurt on the Glenburn Panther with a sharp  22-8 win on Friday. The  victory continues a trend for the Ray Jays in their matchups with the Panther: they've now won five in a row.
 Brinlee Cancade made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and six unearned) runs off   seven  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Abby Olson, who  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI. She also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Brooklyn Edwards, who  went 2-for-5 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.

Ray's win was  their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 6-1. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average this season. As for Glenburn, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ray will face off against Rugby at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Glenburn, they will challenge Velva/Drake/Anamoose at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
