Baseball Recap: Bravo Comes Up Short

Bravo extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-12 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Franklin Panthers. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 8-7 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bravo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Torres, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Franklin, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

On Franklin's side, Jacob Hoechst spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. Hoechst has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Franklin beat Bravo by a score of 9-1 on Friday.
