Softball Game Preview: Poway Titans vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

The Poway Titans will head out to face off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Poway 2.2, Patrick Henry 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Saturday, Poway got the win against Carlsbad by a conclusive 14-1. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Patrick Henry had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Spartans.

Poway pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Patrick Henry, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Poway was able to grind out a solid win over Patrick Henry when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poway since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
