Basketball Recap: Camelback Spartans vs. Queen Creek Bulldogs
Camelback was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 38-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Queen Creek Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 41-16 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Lilly Buckner and Carissa Curley certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Buckner posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Curley had three points and nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds gave Curley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyliana Massey, who put up seven points and three steals.
Queen Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jessenia Attson, who posted four points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Motter, who had eight points and six boards.
Camelback's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Queen Creek, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-11.
