Basketball Recap: Hagerty Takes a Loss

Hagerty lost against Oviedo back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hagerty Huskies fell 58-47 to the Oviedo Lions. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Lions are ranked 106th).

When it comes to explaining why Hagerty lost, don't look at Asa Kohn. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Mason Morrow, who posted nine points.

Hagerty has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Oviedo, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hagerty will head out to face off against Atlantic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hagerty is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season. As for Oviedo, they will venture away from home to take on Altamonte Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
