            Softball Recap: Sachem East vs. Ward Melville Patriots        
        
		
        
        
            After soaring to ten  runs the game before, Sachem East was a bit more limited  in their  contest  on Monday. They fell  5-2 to the Ward Melville Patriots. Sachem East was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Ward Melville earlier this season, when they won  7-5.
 Angelina Cornand spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.
 At the plate, Sachem East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Sam Madigan, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Sachem East's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Ward Melville, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record  this season.
 Sachem East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  6-1  victory against Walt Whitman on the 24th. As for Ward Melville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  an  8-2  win against Bay Shore on the 23rd.
