Desert View waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Empire Ravens 17-2. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 10-9 win the Ravens walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2021.

The team relied heavily on Orlando Pinedo, who fired off three home runs, 11 RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Those three home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Quijada, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Desert View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Desert View's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Empire, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert View will venture away from home to square off against Flowing Wells at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Empire, they will head out to face off against Safford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
