Basketball Game Preview: Berkeley Stags vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs

The Berkeley Stags will face off against the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Berkeley is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.

Berkeley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Tuesday. They took down Goose Creek 53-36.

Aiyanna Moses went supernova for Berkeley, shooting 60% from the field to rack up 15 points and five steals. Moses is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amani Mccray, who posted eight points and 13 rebounds.

Meanwhile, North Myrtle Beach had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Redhawks by a score of 53-42. The Chiefs pushed the score to 46-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Redhawks cut but never quite recovered from.

Berkeley pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points over those games. As for North Myrtle Beach, their record now sits at 22-2.

Berkeley came up short against North Myrtle Beach in their previous matchup back in February of 2018, falling 43-38. Can Berkeley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
