Volleyball Recap: Patchogue-Medford Raiders vs. Connetquot T-Birds

It was a good run, but Patchogue-Medford unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Connetquot T-Birds. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the T-Birds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 18-25, 25-12, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Patchogue-Medford still got an impressive performance from Gabriella Poirier, who had 34 digs. Poirier is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last five games she's played.

Even though they lost, Patchogue-Medford kept the net locked down and finished the game with 14 blocks. That's the most blocks they've managed all season.

Patchogue-Medford's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Connetquot, the victory was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
