Recap: Stratton Eagles vs. Cheyenne Wells Tigers
The Stratton Eagles lost against the Cheyenne Wells Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Stratton received a tough blow as they fell 46-27 to Cheyenne Wells. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stratton has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Stratton had strong showings from Cyler Notter, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Gage Levin, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Stratton struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Stratton's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Cheyenne Wells, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Stratton will head out on the road to face off against Hi-Plains at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hi-Plains will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Stratton is ranked 62nd). As for Cheyenne Wells, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Swink at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Swink focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Tuesday.
