Baseball Recap: Seneca East Tigers vs. Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains
Seneca East had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 11-15 to make it four. They fell just short of the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in April.
Nicolas Parks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Gunner Polachek also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Hopewell-Loudon, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.
On Hopewell-Loudon's side, Braylon Martinez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Jack Colatruglio was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Seneca East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will square off against Old Fort at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
