Basketball Recap: Ray Takes a Loss

Ray suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Tioga Pirates, falling 69-46. While losing is never fun, the Ray Jays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Pirates are ranked 15th).

Ray has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Tioga, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Ray has already played their next contest (against Mandaree), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tioga has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Velva.
