Basketball Recap: Tia Morrow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kaufman over Midlothian

Kaufman lost against Midlothian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kaufman Lions fell just short of the Midlothian Panthers by a score of 58-56.

Kaufman lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tia Morrow, who posted 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Morrow a new career-high in points. Kaylee Wrenn was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 15 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Kaufman dropped their record down to 19-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Midlothian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Kaufman will face off against Red Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Oak will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Kaufman surely won't give up without a fight. As for Midlothian, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Midlothian Panthers challenge the Ennis Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
