Ross easily dispatched Edgewood last Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Ross Rams fell just short of the Harrison Wildcats by a score of 34-32 on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Wildcats are ranked 77th).

Ross' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lanie Lipps, who posted 13 points and three steals. Lipps is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Caroline Chernock, who put up eight points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Alli Robertson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards for Harrison. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Seiter, who had five points.

Ross' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Harrison, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Ross wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 37-20 defeat against Simon Kenton on the 28th. As for Harrison, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Monroe at 1:15 p.m. on January 4th.
