Baseball Recap: Sultan Comes Up Short

Sultan's last matchup with Granite Falls could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The Turks came up short against the Tigers, falling 16-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Turks of the 9-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Sultan has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Granite Falls, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Coming up, Sultan will be playing in front of their home fans against Blaine at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Borderites' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Turks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Granite Falls, they are taking a road trip to face off against South Whidbey at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
