Softball Game Preview: Eastern Musketeers vs. Salem Lions

Eastern is 2-8 against Salem since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Musketeers will face off against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastern is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Crawford County an 11-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Musketeers in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Salem entered their tilt with Providence on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Pioneers.

The result came thanks to Adison Feist's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks.

Salem's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Eastern, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
