Basketball Game Preview: Wallkill Panthers vs. Red Hook Raiders

The Wallkill Panthers will head out to challenge the Red Hook Raiders at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Wallkill is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Wallkill had to suffer through a 84-43 loss at the hands of Our Lady of Lourdes. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 614th, while the Warriors are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Red Hook entered their matchup against New Paltz on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Red Hook was dealt a 65-35 loss at the hands of New Paltz.

Red Hook suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 14-2. As for Wallkill, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Wallkill came up short against Red Hook in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 59-47. Can Wallkill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
