Softball Game Preview: McLean County Cougars vs. Ohio County Eagles

McLean County hasn't had much luck against Ohio County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. McLean County will venture away from home to take on Ohio County at 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday, neither McLean County nor Hopkins County Central could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, Ohio County never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past Murray 10-0. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Ohio County and bumps their season record up to 2-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. McLean County's tie makes their record 0-1-1 this season.

McLean County suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Ohio County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can McLean County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
