Basketball Recap: Matt Bennett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead High Tech CV over High Tech SD

After soaring to 70 points the game before, High Tech CV was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They came up short against the High Tech SD Storm, falling 53-28. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matt Bennett, who posted four points in addition to ten boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Rocky Smith, who put up six points.

Khalil Carrera was nothing short of spectacular for High Tech SD: he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Carrera is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. Sean Josiah was another key player, putting up 12 points.

High Tech CV's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for High Tech SD, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

High Tech CV wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-57 defeat against Valhalla on the 1st. High Tech SD has also already played their next game (against Foothills Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
