Soccer Game Preview: Langley vs. McLean

The Langley Saxons will take on the McLean Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Langley headed into their last match having not scored more than one goal for seven straight, but George C. Marshall let them put that streak behind them. The Saxons put the hurt on the Statesmen with a sharp 5-1 victory on Thursday. Langley have beaten George C. Marshall the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest George C. Marshall has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, McLean waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hornets a 1-0 shutout. Give McLean's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

McLean's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Langley, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 3-5-1.
