Baseball Game Preview: La Crosse Logan Rangers vs. La Crosse Central Riverhawks

The La Crosse Logan Rangers will face off against the La Crosse Central Riverhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. La Crosse Logan will be strutting in after a victory while La Crosse Central will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, La Crosse Logan had just enough and edged out Tomah 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, La Crosse Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Elkhorn on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Elks by a score of 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Riverhawks have lost by just one run.

Landon Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Erik Ramseier, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

La Crosse Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for La Crosse Logan, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

La Crosse Logan came out on top in a nail-biter against La Crosse Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Riverhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
