Baseball Recap: Douglass Drops Season-High Score on Forest Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Douglass). They put the hurt on the Forest Park Foresters with a sharp 30-5 win on Saturday. The Mighty Ducks haven't had any issues with the Foresters recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Shaul Klein and Wilmer Rivero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Klein struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Rivero struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Klein has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Klein got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI, while Rivero fired off six RBI, four runs, and two triples while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Rivero a new career-high.

In other batting news, Douglass let Tim Wise and Isaac Montufar - Reyes run wild. Wise went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI, while Montufar - Reyes went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave Wise a new career-high in doubles (two). Kevin Roche-Ramos was another key player, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Douglass' win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Forest Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Douglass nor Forest Park have any future games scheduled.
