Diamond Ranch made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Montclair, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Diamond Ranch Panthers were the clear victor by an 11-2 margin over the Montclair Cavaliers on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Izel Avalos and Natalie Macias made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Avalos tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Macias didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. At the plate, Avalos scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Macias went 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Avalos has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.
In other batting news, Rayanna Quintanar was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Liset Renteria, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Diamond Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montclair only posted a batting average of .200.
Diamond Ranch now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Montclair, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Diamond Ranch will square off against Chino at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Montclair, they will venture away from home to face off against Chaffey at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Montclair has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
