Softball Recap: Seabreeze Has No Trouble Against Pine Ridge

While Seabreeze didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Pine Ridge Panthers with a sharp 18-2 win on Thursday. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Sandcrabs this season.

The team relied heavily on Kyra McLin, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Sebastian, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Seabreeze was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Seabreeze pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.7 runs. As for Pine Ridge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seabreeze will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on DeLand at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Pine Ridge, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Pine Ridge Panthers duke it out with Taylor Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th. They have given up an average of 15.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
