Game recap: Ironton High School Football Team bests Bloom-Carroll

IRONTON, Ohio - Ironton (Ohio) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as Patrick Lewis ran for a touchdown with with 6:00 remaining in the third quarter, bringing the team to victory over Bloom-Carroll (Carroll, Ohio) 41-16.

The Fighting Tigers led 14-13 at halftime, but the Bulldogs recaptured the lead on a field goal with 7:00 left in the third.

Ironton expanded its lead to four points entering the fourth quarter. IHS scored once in the quarter on a Lewis touchdown run.

A 21-point fourth quarter was enough to cement the win for the Fighting Tigers, as they pushed the final margin of victory to 25.

Lewis played well for Ironton in the victory. The senior halfback ran for two touchdowns.



IHS came in allowing an average of 28.9 points per game this season.

The loss comes after Bloom-Carroll defeated Hamilton Township 30-25 last week. The loss snapped Bloom-Carroll's 3-game winning streak.
